Ultrasonic Testing (UT) scans are a primary non-destructive testing (NDT) method used to inspect Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) for internal defects. Because carbon fiber is anisotropic and multi-layered, UT is essential for finding "invisible" damage like delamination (layer separation) and porosity.

What our Scanner detects:

UT scans are highly sensitive to:

    •    Delamination: Separation between the carbon fiber plies, often caused by impacts.

    •    Porosity/Voids: Small air bubbles trapped in the resin during manufacturing.

    •    Foreign Object Inclusions: Items like backing paper or debris accidentally cured inside the laminate.

    •    Debonding: Separation between the composite skin and an internal core (e.g., honeycomb).
